People who flap their lips.

I do not know much about Obama's health care reform. I do not fully understand what he wants to do. Some people are scared about socialism. Some people think he has come to save the country from crashing into inescapable health care chaos. Like I said, I don't know enough to choose a side. So, I won't.

I wish people who don't know exactly what they're talking about, wouldn't talk.
There you have it: one of my pet peeves.

In the past few weeks I have discovered a very sensitive nerve that gets hit every time I read or hear something that is just off-base from someone who is overly confident in their "knowledge". Unfortunately, Dan and I both share this pet peeve. Somehow, I generally resist voicing my opinions to these people. Dan is becoming a little more vocal in his corrections.

Case 1: Obama will fix the health care system so that everyone can get good care. Without his reform, people will get no care.
Objections: Really? Everyone will get good care? Really? Show me the facts. And people are obviously getting care now without his reform. So, bad argument.

Really? Is that right? Really?

Case 2: The All-Star game is pointless and more enjoyable for the players than the fans. The Oscars, however, are priceless.
Objections: Who enjoys the Oscar more: the winner or their biggest fan? Duh. Why do All-Star tickets sell out within weeks? Because the players snatch them up? No, fans buy them. Duh.

Case 3: Theologians have mind knowledge, but no heart knowledge. They will learn forever but never truly know God. Oh, and the whole Bible should be interpreted prescriptively. And we don't need to interact with the LDS. They've already heard about Jesus. Too late.
Objections: Yes, theologians just devote their lives to reading books about a God they don't love. Makes sense...not. Some may put more focus on learning than knowing God, but not all. If the whole Bible is prescriptive, sir, please stop eating shrimp and cheeseburgers. Thanks. Finally, I would rather not assume that a group of people who believe in a false Jesus should be forgotten. That is a rather un-Christian thing to do, don't you think? God somehow did not give up on the stupid stubborn Israelites. Why should we give up on people?

Why am I ranting? Because here, in the confines of my blog, no one will see me as mean little girl with too many opinions on the offensive. Everyone is allowed their pet peeves. Mine is people soap-boxing without having firm grounds to rant.

Shooting first and asking questions later basically kills your credibility.
Do some research, then attack.

  1. I enjoy your rants. They're pretty spot-on, actually, at least from my perspective.

  3. Everyone God creates needs to hear of His love and grace!
Pretty scary when so many of Obama's bills have passed congress without being read! Apparently this one removes private insurance within a period of time. Bottom line is that health care must be rationed and the government will be making the decisions on who gets what and when. Good thing Dan is doing great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. I disagree with your #1, not everyone has healthcare, you're wrong about that. So for you to so harshly say that people are getting health care now, your wrong. Especially in this economy with so many people out of work they have no health care. WHO ARE YOU KIDDING. I say to you, SERIOUSLY! Are you SERIOUS?

And those of us who do have healthcare, I'm the majority that do, sure can agree that its already poor.

So anything the government puts in place, can only make things better, it certainly cannotmake things worse. How will it make it better?

    1) those who have no health care, will have something. Even if it's shitty, most would agree it's better then nothing.
    2) If the gov healthcare actually happens to be decent, then those of us who have shitty health care will now have an option to choose. We like options!!

I think you really need to watch the documentary that was done regarding health care in the United States and how countries whos health care is run by the government is striving. It's no wonder people with serious illnesses travel to foreign countries to seek medical care. If Obama can create a gov health care system that's comparable to those in other countries, then we here would truly be blessed to be an American.

I take it you must have health care and have not had to experience the long and timeless phone calls of calling an insurance company for approval of procedures that without it the person seeking medical care would die only to have it denied. I take it you've never sat in an emergency waiting room for hours and hours only to be seen for 5 minutes and be sent home and to return hours later when the condition has worsened and you were mis-diagnosed.

My theory something is better then nothing so In my opinion your reaction to number 1 is not valid, especially since your so confident that you are always right. Or so your blog makes it out to appear that way.

I think you should heed your own advice and if you don't know what you are talking about, then don't speak. Your biased.

I don't judge anyone, but if your gonna gloat and talk smack about people who speak that are uninformed and then you do the same thing, it's hypocritical.

People are allowed their own opnions and I respect your opinions, but I had to make you eat your own words!!
